I highlighted Burtynsky's work in a previous post. But I just happened upon his video presentation at TED 2005 today. And living in China and being closely connected to manufacturing in China, I am in awe of his work. Of the scale he's been able to capture visually, and the access he's been given; to places most of us will never see. And the familar juxtaposition of old and architecture, the crowding out of the traditional by the future.
The China portion starts at about the 12.30 minute mark. It's quite powerful. Go to Ted for more on The Ted Conference and Ted Talks.
